Dads celebrated at British International School

NORTHLANDS – Dads were celebrated in a fun style at the British International Preparatory School's Father's Day assembly held on 15 June.

Dads were celebrated in a fun style at the British International Preparatory School’s Father’s Day assembly held on 15 June.

Dad’s bonded with their little ones during a variety of fun and educational activities.

“Today was to celebrate our fathers. Our school wouldn’t exist without dads, and this event is to honour and appreciate the hard work they do in raising their children, and to have a bit of fun at the same time,” said principal Garth Thompson.

The main aim of the activities was to encourage children to spend time and have fun with their dads. After welcoming everyone with a warm cup of coffee, dads had the opportunity to take part in cup stacking, bottle flipping and backward ball throwing with their children.

The recognition for the fun activities went to the numerous mothers who had their share in setting them up. Thompson added, “The moms said that it was Father’s Day for them too, so they did not hesitate to play their part.”

The school’s Lee Thompson said in her address to the assembly, “Dads are so busy and often have very little time to spend with their kids, so today we have used this opportunity to encourage dads to spend quality time with their kids.

Lee Thompson gives the illustration of the ‘gift of time’ in her welcoming address at the British International Preparatory School’s Father’s Day assembly.

“Our children grow up so quickly. On many occasions, we think of various gifts to give them. The gift of time spent with your children is the ultimate present that you can give them, and my message to all dads this Father’s Day is to value the time spent with your children.”
