Taking pride in your community is what the Windsor Action Group promoted this weekend when they hosted a clean-up on 9 June.
They asked friends and neighbours to clean up the street and kerbs in front of their homes in Windsor East.
Karen Olivier, spokesperson for the group, was excited to have seen the community embracing such an initiative.
“It is important to take pride in your community and people saw what we were doing and encouraged us,” said Olivier.
“As we walked around cleaning up our immediate area, we saw others doing the same and we started cleaning up together and along the way, we took down advertising posters as well.
We also had the help of the Windsor Spar that is offering a prize to those who participated. To enter, they have to upload a picture of themselves to our Facebook page and the one with the most likes will win.”
Olivier added that she wants more community members to get involved in such initiatives and get to know their neighbours better.
