Brace yourself for a few hours in the dark due to City Power maintenance in Randburg

Randburg suburbs will be without electricity in the coming weeks due to mandatory maintenance work to be conducted by the power utility.

According to City Power, the planned interruption will take place on 18 June between 10pm and 6am the following morning.

Areas that will be affected include:

• Blairgowrie
• Fontainebleau
• Linden Extension
• Randpark
• Robin Hills
• Ruiterhof
• Cresta
• Moret
• Randparkrif
• Robindale
• Windsor
• Jacanlee
• Ferndale
• President Ridge
• Robin Acres
• Windsor Glen.

Safety precautions during dark hours

• Treat all power supply points as live at all times
• Unplug all appliances and electronics to avoid a surge when the power is restored
• Keep your refrigerator door tightly closed to keep all your food cold
• If you are afraid of the dark, invest in safe rechargeable lights that you can keep on for the duration of the outage instead of candles.
