Northwold Spar introduces one of the first crypto-currency ATMs in Gauteng

RANDBURG – Easy access to cryptocurrency around the corner.

Gauteng residents will finally be able to purchase digital currency with ease, at a grocery store in Northwold.

Northwold Spar, situated at Northwold Junction Shopping Centre has introduced one of the first crypto-currency ATMs in Gauteng.

George Neophytou, store manager for Northwold Spar explained that the machine enabled users to buy their crypto-currency, while they shop.

“We have been working on this project for some time and I am excited to have the machine located in this store,” said Neophytou.

The machine originally launched in 2014 to offer Bitcoin purchases and will be available to the public, demonstrating how easy it can be to purchase digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum.

Neophytou, excited to be a part of the global revolution in digital finance has encouraged shoppers to join the revolution.

“Everyone who is interested in digital currencies is more than welcome to visit our store,” said Neophytou.

The virtual teller machines (VTM) allows customers to buy crypto-currencies with cash or with their smartphone-cryptocurrency e-wallets.

They will also be able to send and receive peer-to-peer, without a bank.

Users first need to download a Bitcoin or crypto-currency e-wallet from their App store. They can then opt to receive the currency which is deposited into it.

A QR code will then be generated, and the user can select which crypto-currency they would like to buy from the VTM by scanning the QR code in the machine.

Money is then inserted into the machine, which then concludes the transaction.
