Patient airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Ferndale
FERNDALE – One man was left critically injured after he had been struck by a vehicle.
A man was left critically injured when he was knocked over by a motor vehicle on Dover Road in Ferndale.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon and ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the body of a man lying in the middle of the road.
The motor vehicle that had struck the man was found parked around the corner a short distance away.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a very serious head injury, leaving him in a critical condition.
Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated, in an effort to stabilise the patient’s vital signs.
Once treated, the patients were airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan Helicopter to a private hospital for urgent treatment.
The driver of the motor vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
