Piece of land on Beyers Naude Drive gets a clean-up

RANDPARK RIDGE – The clean-up by Randpark Ridge Village Association unearthed a gun and knives.

RandparkRidge Village Association cleared the stretch of land on Beyers Naude Drive near Randpark Drive of overgrown grass and rubbish.

The clean-up took about a week to complete and during it, they found a gun and several knives.

 

Cut grass is swept into a pile on the stretch of land on Beyers Naude Drive.

 

Chairperson of the association, Phil Culham said it was important to clear the land as it bordered homes on Mimosa Road, Randpark Drive and Fiskaal Crescent.

“We are entering into an agreement with the owner of the land which should give beneficial results to all concerned,” said Culham.

 

The Beyers Naude Drive stretch of land is cleared at least once a week.

He added that when the land was overgrown it became an ideal situation for displaced people to set up home.
