Mother’s Day was celebrated in fabulous fashion at the British International Preparatory School’s Mother’s Day High Tea on 11 May.
From drumming and dancing to heartfelt poetry, the schoolchildren from across all grades put on a solidly rehearsed show to celebrate all things mom.
After the little ones put on their show, mothers were invited to stay for some tea and light snacks.
The principal of the school, Garth Thompson said, “We were here today to celebrate Mother’s Day and to commend the amazing work that all of the mothers in our school do. Our school cannot run without them.
“The event today was a great success. It was great to see the joy on our mother’s faces as their little ones took to the stage, and the children had a lot of fun too.”
Many of the peripheral activities at the school are run by parent volunteers. Thompson continued, “Some of our mothers literally give up eight hours of their week, every week for an entire year.
“We value all of our parents and their contribution toward the school, and with the 49 different nationalities represented in our school, they have truly built solid a community that has welcomed the diversity of expats.”
The mother’s day high tea was the last event held at the British International Preparatory School current campus before the school moves. “We are very excited to move to our new premises on Selbourne Road.
“As our school is constantly growing, we are always looking for younger children to join us, so that they can grow with the school and their classmates.”
