Young driver killed after crashing into road sign at Beyers Naudé off-ramp

RANDPARK RIDGE – The woman was declared dead on the scene early this morning.

A young woman was killed this morning when her vehicle crashed into a road sign at the Beyers Naudé Drive offramp off the N1, ER24 reported.

Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other fire and provincial services, arrived on the scene at about 2am to find a crumpled light motor vehicle in the emergency lane of the offramp.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the body of a woman, believed to be 25 years old, lying trapped inside the wreckage,” he said.

“Unfortunately, the woman had already succumbed to her injuries. Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead by the provincials services.”

The details surrounding the incident were not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations, Meiring said.
