Curro Aurora above par with Sun City win

SUN CITY – The Curro Aurora's golf teams participated in the Westville Boys High School Sun City Golf Championships from 25 to 27 April.

The Curro Aurora A and B golf teams participated in the Westville Boys High School Sun City Golf Championships from 25 to 27 April.

Teams from across the country came together to prove that golf is a fast-growing school sport.

The championships included 27 teams from 24 schools.

Facing tough competition from other schools, the Curro Aurora A team of Cole Stevens, Kieron van Wyk, Alex van der Merwe, Cara Ford and Carl Mwale won the championships.

Kieron finished in the tied 1st position in the individual competition.

The Curro Aurora B team of Kim Turgut, Kael Strydom, Siyakha Mvinjelwa, Branko Chatzkelowitz and Arnoux van der Merwe finished in 18th position overall, but 3rd in the B division.

Kim finished 2nd in the overall net competition, which is calculated on her score versus handicap, and finished 3rd in the B individual competition.
