Ward councillors and volunteers from wards 101 and 134 joined forces for this month’s A Re Sebetseng clean-up initiative.
Ward 101 councillor Dalu Cele said, “It was a very successful A Re Sebetseng and we were happy to be joined by fellow councillor Wendy Alexander and some residents from Ward 134.”
Focusing on the area surrounding Suikerbekkie Street, the ward councillors and other volunteers cleaned up to the corner of Tin and Buiten roads.
Those who participated collected a large amount of litter and fallen tree branches.
Ward 134 councillor Wendy Alexander added, “This initiative needs to take place every month and we encourage all to take part. It’s amazing how dirty one area can become in the space of a month.
“The more people who take part in the initiative, the more people will learn how to better take care of the environment.”
The A Re Sebetseng clean-up initiative takes place on the third Saturday of each month and residents are encouraged to take part.
