Four suspects arrested in police operation

WINDSOR – Linden police officers were part of a local operation to fight drugs in the community.

With an aim to curb drugs in the Windsor area, officers from the Linden Police Station patrolled the community on 6 April.

Led by station commander Colonel Ahmed Musthan, the purpose of the operation was not only to fight drug abuse in the area but also other violent crimes that take place such as housebreaking, hijacking and assault.

“Windsor is one of the communities that has high crime and drug-related problems. We were also targeting those who sold drugs,” said Linden police spokesperson Constable Takalani Matumba.

“With the help of members from the crime prevention unit and support service members, we were able to arrest four suspects and they were charged with drug possession. We will work hard and ensure that the community is safe.” said Matumba.

The suspects will appear at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court this week.
