It has been about two weeks since Shawn Hanene Mutanga (20) was reported missing at the Linden Police Station. He was last seen on 27 March at Casablanca Flats in Windsor West where he was visiting his mother.
The Zambian national was barefoot, wearing a white T-shirt and white tracksuit pants at the flats.
When reporting a missing person to the police, you will need a recent photograph of the missing person and a detailed description of their last known whereabouts, the clothes the person was wearing as well as any other information that may assist the investigating officer.
The police will also need a completed SAPS 55(A) signed by the person filing the report.
This is to safeguard the police against any hoax reports as well as allowing them to distribute the photograph and information of the missing person.
The investigating officer’s details should be kept at hand to keep them up to date and any additional information should be sent through to them as well.
Should a missing person be found, the investigating officer should be informed immediately.
