Following the robbery, Cresta Shopping Centre management is appealing to anyone who may have information on the suspects involved to come forward.
According to Virginia Bester, Cresta General Manager, three armed suspects entered the mall pretending to be customers and robbed the Edgars Connect store.
A staff member from a nearby store noticed the suspicious activity in and around the Edgars Connect store and alerted Cresta Security and Management.
The security teams took immediate action, calling for back up and pursued the suspects who fled in two getaway cars, a White Corolla and Silver Hyundai i20, with fake registration plates.
The value of the stolen merchandise is unknown at this stage.
“The security and safety is a top priority for Cresta Management and our Security teams and we will continue in our efforts to make the Centre a safe environment where our tenants and shoppers feel safe,” said Virginia Bester, Cresta General Manager.
No injuries were reported during the incident and the matter is being investigated by Linden police.

Police are on the hunt for four suspects involved in a business robbery at Cresta Shopping Centre this morning.
According to police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo, the armed suspects made their way into an Edgars Connect store and held up staff and customers.
““Armed with 9mm pistols, the suspects proceeded to take an undisclosed amount of cellphones,” said Masondo.
“When the suspects escaped, they fired two shots in the parking lot.
No one was injured during the incident and police are working diligently to ensure they are apprehended.”
