Captured hijackers to be sentenced in Randburg

RANDBURG – Two suspects will appear in the Randburg Magistrates' Court to face charges of hijacking.

Two suspects aged 24 and 32 will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of hijacking.

At about 10pm on 8 March, the hijacking victim was waiting in his vehicle on the corner of Braam Fischer Drive and Dover Street in Ferndale to pick up his girlfriend when he was approached by three suspects.

When he heard a knock at the window, he opened the door thinking that it was his girlfriend, but instead was confronted by the three suspects.

Randburg police spokesperson, Captain Makgowanyana Maja said, “One suspect was armed with a pistol with the others trying to open his doors. They succeeded, throwing him out of the vehicle and drove off with it.

“The matter was reported to the police and docket assigned to the cluster detective team. They investigated the case and managed to track and arrest two suspects.”

The other suspect is still at large.
