An elderly man who was reported missing after leaving Cresta Shopping Centre is safe after being found in Witbank.
The good news comes after the Linden community desperately searched for Norman Naudé (88) who went missing on 5 March.
Naudé was found safe after he ended up more than 150km away from his Montgomery Park home.
Naudé was reported missing after last being seen leaving Cresta Shopping Centre’s Entrance 3 between 12.30 and 1pm.
Founder of eBlockwatch, Andre Snyman confirmed that Naudé had been found saying, “This is not the first guy we have found over 200km away after going shopping down the road. We once tracked a guy to Welkom after he went shopping here in Joburg North.”
Snyman added, “The best way to look after us old [people] is to have them registered on eblockwatch. We have a whole lot of systems which kick in when a member is reported missing. From tracking their phones to camera systems.” Snyman confirms that the eblockwatch team cannot assist with tracking a phone unless the phone itself is registered with them.
“It is important to tick the boxes to work out how safe you are before an incident like this happens to you or your loved ones.”

The Linden community is desperately searching for Norman Naudé (88) who went missing earlier today.
Naudé was last seen leaving Cresta Shopping Centre’s Entrance 3 between 12.30 and 1pm.
According to CCTV footage at the shopping centre, he was driving towards Montgomery Park in a Gold Chevrolet Spark with the registration number TVB 065 GP.
Linden CPF chairperson, Debbie Hanekom said Naudé was wearing a light beige long-sleeved shirt and a black floppy hat.
