Vox Pop: Youth share thoughts on President Ramaphosa
RANDBURG – What are the expectations of young residents about the new president of the nation.
BOTLHALE SATSHA: I do not have full confidence in him because he was there when the previous president was driving the country to the ground. He never tried to earnestly fight corruption but I will await his actions to prove me wrong. His cabinet reshuffle does not give me any confidence.
The country is heading into a new dawn with a new president of the nation in Cyril Ramaphosa.
The former deputy president replaced Jacob Zuma after he stepped down as the commander in chief when his party, the African National Congress put pressure on him to do so.
With the country getting used to a new number one, Randburg Sun asked the youth to share their thoughts on Ramaphosa.
LIAM KAUZIL: So far I am really liking Ramaphosa and his way of conducting himself. We are already seeing the benefits of having him in office such as a steady rand, and the economic growth outlook does not look depressing.
OAGILE LEBALLO: I am a bit biased because I went to school with one of the Ramaphosa children. So I am positive that Cyril Ramaphosa will do a great job as president. I understand that he was under fire for the Marikana incident but that is isolated. Cyril will do well.
RALPH GWANGWA: I am not sure about what kind of a president he will be but I am hopeful that he will do well.
MOAHLE KOBE: Cyril will be good for South Africa and the economy because the nation has faith in him and so do investors. He knows how to invigorate the economy of this country because he has experience.
