Kensington B park gets a fresh lick of paint

KENSINGTON B – The Kenbrink Residents Association organised and funded the painting of the playground of the park in Kensington B.

The Kenbrink Residents’ Association (KRA) organised and funded the painting of park equipment in Kensington B.

In the week of 12 February, the project kicked off to uplift the park.

The rejuvenation work was completed by local neighbourhood gardener, Herlis, and took five days to complete.

Catherine Dowie, member of the Kenbrink Residents Association and overseer of the park upliftment project said, “The KRA is committed to the upliftment of Kensington B and public spaces. The park has long been on our list of areas to improve.

“The park is very busy on the weekends as children from neighbouring areas flock to enjoy the open space and jungle gyms. The jungle gyms have weathered over the last few years and we identified the need to give them a fresh coat of paint.”

The children’s jungle gym at Kensington B park has received a much-needed lick of paint.

According to Dowie, there are future plans to continue developing the park by either planting grass or adding safety rubber flooring when they have a budget.

She added, “If any residents would like to sponsor future projects, they should contact us… The KRA funded this project from our annual submissions.”
