Matumba took the opportunity to exercise a few of the goals she has put in place following her recent appointment as the new spokesperson for the station.

“Before becoming the spokesperson for Linden, I worked in social crime prevention, targeting areas of Windsor and surrounds… I saw the impact that drug and alcohol abuse can put on families and also worked on a special project to help victims of sexual abuse.”

Matumba added that a growing concern is the amount of crime involving youth which goes unreported. “One of my main aims is to educate youth who are vulnerable and to prove to them that the police should not be feared, we are there to help them.

“Do not be afraid to report incidents of drugs, alcohol or sexual abuse… Even if you are merely suspicious, let us investigate and together we can stop these problems in our schools and homes.”
