Akeso offers mental healthcare services for those in need of inpatient treatment

As part of the Akeso group of clinics with branches throughout South Africa, Akeso Crescent Clinic, situated in Boskruin Randburg, offers in-patient services for those suffering from mental illness and has helped many patients and families since opening its doors in 2004.
Mental illness affects many people in the community and the programmes at the clinic aim to empower patients with coping mechanisms to improve daily functioning and to destigmatise psychiatric illnesses. The programmes include individual, family and group psychotherapy, occupational therapy, educational groups, exercise, relaxation as well as music and art groups.
They offer treatment for depression, bipolar mood disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse and eating disorders. They also have a specialised treatment programme for adolescent patients suffering from depression and anxiety disorders as well as substance abuse. Their specialised eating disorder programme offers help to those suffering from disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.
The professionals at the facility are expertly trained to manage various psychiatric conditions and are passionate about helping patients change the direction of their life.
The multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, mental healthcare nurses, all of whom are committed to providing the best possible patient care to ensure the best possible outcome for patients and their loved ones.
