Randburg Sun gets an exclusive first look at new Come Dine With Me series

FERNDALE – Come Dine With Me South Africa is back.

Members of the press filled the Multichoice screening room in Randburg in anticipation to preview the new series of Come Dine with Me South Africa.

In the first episode, prepare to meet pole dancing Carmi van Heerden, hyper-critical Philipine Modimogale, drama queen Ian Perryman and chatty Nonhlanhla Ntwasa.

Though the first episode takes place in Pretoria, you can expect to see some familiar faces from the Joburg north community engage in familiar drama in the upcoming few weeks.

Popular commentator Dave Lamb returns to the series to dish out more witty remarks with a South African twist.

 

Joel Churcher, general manager and vice president, BBC Worldwide Africa, announces the preview of the new series at the Multichoice screening rooms in Randburg.

After a five year break, BBC Worldwide Africa in partnership with Rapid Blue, are proud to be bringing the show back to its new home of BBC Brit.

Joel Churcher, general manager and vice president, BBC Worldwide Africa said, “We are thrilled to be able to announce the return date of Come Dine With Me South Africa for a fourth series.”

“I am confident that the new contestants will find their ways into the hearts of our viewers with the new episodes promising even more iconic moments and catchphrases such as ‘shut the front door’ and ‘what the fudge’.”

Churcher also hinted that, due to the success of the series with South African audiences, the new series will be shown to an international audience of millions in the UK, Ireland, Australia and parts of Europe.

Series four of Come Dine With Me will premiere on its new home, BBC Brit (DStv channel 120) from 15 February at 8pm.

This delicious chocolate and raspberry charlotte’s recipe will give you a taste of what the new series of Come Dine With Me South Africa has in store for you.

CHOCOLATE & RASBERRY CHARLOTTES

Ingredients:

  • 30 sponge fingers
  • 225g plain chocolate, chopped
  • 284ml carton double cream
  • 200g tub mascarpone
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Amaretto
  • Raspberries and mint sprigs to serve

Method
1. Place cooking rings on a greased baking sheet.
2. Cut the sponge fingers in half and use to line the rings.
3. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of hot water. Cool slightly.
4. Whip the cream to soft peaks.
5. Beat together the mascarpone, sugar and Amaretto until smooth. Stir in the sugar. Spread out on a tray lined with cling film and leave to set.
6. Place the desserts on plates and remove the rings.
7. Serve with raspberries and raspberries coulis
