Members of the school’s four houses, Ravens, Hawks, Falcons and Eagles, cheered on the swimmers. The houses chose themes to stand a chance of winning the spirit cup including Cat in the Hat and Hawaiian.
The school’s principal, Nic Pienaar, was delighted to see the great support. He said, “This is always a highlight of the year and a great start to it… The two best teams from today will compete in the next inter-school gala.
“We always start with an event where the whole school gets an opportunity to swim across the pool… The more swimmers each house has, the more points they will get to win.”

The overall winners of the event were the Eagle’s, with Falcons winning the spirit cup, and Ravens winning the best dressed.
The junior victor ludorum in the boys’ category was Wayne van Wyk and the victrix ludorum went to Amber Fauconier.
Sibling swimmers, Thomas and Kelly Anderson, had the honour of taking the senior victor and victrix ludorums respectively.
Pienaar added, “Our next event will be the inter-house athletics in the winter.”
