UPDATE: National Freedom Party (NFP) condemns ANC members’ attack

JOBURG – The National Freedom Party (NFP) has condemned the actions of ANC members who were seen attacking an elderly woman.

Events at today’s Hands off Zuma protest outside Luthuli House have been marred by chaos and violence.

Pictures and videos have surfaced showing ANC members attacking Black First Land First (BLF) members – including women.

The National Freedom Party (NFP) has condemned the actions of the ANC members.

“We are saddened by the barbaric behaviour displayed by those who claim to defend the ANC headquarters known as Luthuli House – even the former president of the ANC [which] this building has been named after, will be very disappointed to hear that today, that the very same house/building where ANC top leadership is meeting, has become the area now which bullies and abuses women as we saw it happening today,” said the NFP.

The NFP has also urged the minister of police, Fikile Mbalula, to ensure that all implicated ANC members get arrested urgently.

“We firmly believe that there is no amount of anger and hatred which can justify this animalistic behaviour we have seen today. Not even lunatics do what these ANC members are doing, they have lost what we call uBuntu (humanity),” the NFP said.

“They should be ashamed of themselves and the manner in which they behave, they don’t represent the new democratic South Africa we live in,” the NFP concluded.
