Lane closures to affect M1 highway from 24 January until end of February

PARKTOWN– The construction will take place between the Killarney Bends and the St Andrews Road off-ramp.

Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) will undertake remedial work on the M1 highway to accommodate the installation of cables and future services, from 24 January up until the end of February.

The construction and repairs will be limited to the centre median barrier on the M1 highway between the Killarney bends and the St Andrews Road off-ramp from 9am to 3pm daily.

The fast lane going northbound and southbound will be closed, reducing the number of lanes in both directions from three to two. The lanes will reopen outside the designated time frames to allow for the flow of traffic during peak hours.

Motorists are advised to expects delays during the construction period, travel at reduce speeds upon entering the construction zone and adhere to roadworks’ signs.

Motorists need to be vigilant of construction workers on-site and flag persons will be on hand to alert motorists.
