Awesome chance to win a 2015 Beetle which also benefits a charity

NORTHWOLD – The Ann Harding Cheshire Home is giving you the chance to win a 2015 Volkswagen Beetle.

The Ann Harding Cheshire Home will be raffling off a donated 2015 Volkswagen Beetle in order to raise much-needed funds for the organisation.

The Beetle was generously donated by a friend of the home’s chairperson, and will be given away in a National Lottery sanctioned raffle.

“It is a great way for the public to get involved in a great cause and stand a chance to win something great at the same time,” said Jackie Kyle of the Ann Harding Cheshire Home.

Residents Andre Alberts, Katherine Campbell and Beatha Machekera with the VW Beetle.

For the home, funding has been particularly hard to come by in the past year, and an opportunity like this could mean a great 2018 ahead for its residents.

“The financial situations of many of our donors and South African society, in general, has definitely put a strain on our home’s funding for 2018,” Kyle continued.

The residents of the home pay an amount to their caregiving, but the home mostly relies on funding that has been donated by the public.

The home plans to sell over 2 000 tickets by the time the draw takes place at the end of February.

“What we have decided to do with the donations, despite desperately needing it in the home, is to purchase new vehicles for our residents to be transported in,” said Kyle.

Between the 40 residents of the home, there are only two vehicles that are equipped for transportation. “Our current vehicles are quite old now and are actually costing us a lot in maintenance,” said Kyle.

Raffle tickets will cost R250 each, and all members of the public are encouraged to take a chance to win.
