Community comes to animals’ rescue

NORTH RIDING – Community donates 2 000 litres to Randburg SPCA.

The Randburg community came together to help the Randburg SPCA in their time of need.

The animal shelter was hit by a water outage for a few hours on the afternoon of 7 January after a water pipe burst in North Riding.

Not wanting the animals to suffer during the heatwave, community members started dropping off water in tanks and bottles.

Randburg SPCA manager Craig Rudman said, “I was ecstatic to see how the community came and assisted us when we needed it. It really made me speechless and I still don’t have the words to express my gratitude.

“Although we were out of water for a few hours, we received so much that we are using some of the water to clean the kennels. Not a drop will go to waste.”

Rudman added that there was almost 2 000 litres of water donated.
