Jacques-Marcell Jacobs was found in the early hours of the morning of 17 December in Bloemfontein.
Randburg Sun had previously reported that Jacobs had been missing since 12 December.

According to a relative, Jacobs, a lawyer, was seated in his car at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court when he was held at gunpoint and forced to drive to Bloemfontein.
“The suspect also wanted R10 000 from him but he did not have that kind of money,” said the relative.
A diabetic, Jacobs only had a small amount of insulin which he managed to conserve for the five days he was held against his will.
He was found by detectives of the Roodepoort Police Station.
His family is happy that he is safe.
“He is at home and we are so happy, the past week was both the worst and best week for the family, it was just amazing that he managed to keep the small [amount] insulin he had for as long as he did,” concluded the relative.
