End in sight for rubbish along Malibongwe Drive

SHARONLEA – Report illegal dumping to keep your neighbourhood clean.

Illegally dumped building rubble to be removed

Malibongwe Drive is no stranger to illegal dumping and this has prompted Ward 101 councillor Dalu Cele to resolve the matter.

His office has taken significant steps to reduce the amount of dumped rubbish along the road that connects Randburg to the suburbs surrounding Northgate.

He said, “The improvement is already visible across Malibongwe Drive and the major dumping area that is adjacent to this site behind Malibongwe Drive.”

He went on to say that these areas have been cordoned-off to allow clean-up projects that will be launched there.

In an attempt to reduce illegal dumping, the Randburg Sun contacted Pikitup to find out where people can dump their refuse. The link below has details to nearby dumping sites that accept paper, glass, used car oil, scrap metal, eWaste, tins and cardboard. They also accept a limited amount of building rubble (one wheelbarrow).
