Food, family and furry friends – SPCA Randburg enjoys 40th birthday

NORTH RIDING – What better way is there to celebrate a 40th birthday than with the community and friends who keep you afloat?

It was no ordinary day as hundreds of people flocked to the Randburg SPCA reception area covered in colourful ribbons, gold balloons and happy faces ready to celebrate their 40th birthday.

November, this year, marks 40 extraordinary years that the staff and team have been serving the community and their animals.

As a way of sharing in the festivities on 11 November, community members, friends, family and organisations were invited to have some fun while eating some delicious boereworw rolls from CLE Properties, gluten-free doughnuts from Wendy Kilroe, having their faces painted, and meeting some incredibly cute animals available for adoption.

Florah Seema, Betty Lephoto and Lebo Monyai help run the raffle stall.

HOT91.9FM broadcast from the event with DJ Mark Pilgram entertaining the crowd with awesome old-school music. Other organisations that have been long supporters of Randburg SPCA such as CLE Propertes, Million Hairs Club, Londoloza Protection Group and all helped make the day even more special.

General manager Craig Rudman said, “I am so grateful to all the organisations and companies that have helped support us over so many years. It is not easy running a place like this and it costs a lot of money, without the community’s support, we would not have been able to do so much in 40 years.”

Rudman sent a special thank you to his staff and committee for tirelessly dedicating themselves to the cause.
