Rabie Street fence repaired

RANDPARK – Business steps in to secure area for community.

The community feels safer after the repair of a fence by Trojan Security.

Priscilla Cille, a community member, has welcomed the work done by the company. She said, “Trojan wanted to give back to the community and asked me what they could do.”

Trojan then decided that repairing the fence at the corner of Rabie Street and Monkor Road would be a good start.

Cille said the gate was in a terrible state and had become a safety concern for the area. She said there were criminal activities taking place as well.

This fence along Rabie Road was recently repaired by Trojan Security. The pedestrian gate will be opened every morning and closed and locked at night.

Trojan financed the replacement parts, welding, paint and all labour to repair the fence. They included a pedestrian access gate that will allow people to continue to walk freely in the area.

“The fence will not restrict the movement of people in the area,” Cille explained.

She added that Trojan will open the access gate early in the morning and close it at the end of the day. It will be locked at night and Trojan will continue to patrol the area to ensure the safety of the community.

An added benefit of repairing the fence is that motorists at the intersection will be safer as hijackings will be less attractive to criminals, with nowhere to escape to.

Cille thanked Trojan for the work they did to improve the security of the area.

Trojan Security approached the community to help improve the security of the area. They paid for all the repairs and will continue to patrol the area.

Ward 104 councillor Mike Wood has also welcomed the work done by the security company.

He said, “I’m absolutely delighted that the community can come together with business owners by taking hands and taking back the community.”

He added that this all aligns with the community’s plan to improve the safety and security of everyone living and working in the area.

He thanked Trojan and the local community for this initiative and encouraged more such initiatives.
