Three suspects between the ages of 29 and 42 years old are to appear in court to face charges of possession of suspected stolen items.
The spokesperson for the Randburg Police Station, Captain Makgowanyana Maja said on 14 October at about 4.30am, sector police were performing their routine operations when they spotted the three suspects. As the police officers approached them, the suspects fled and the officers called for back-up.
The suspects were caught and when searched, officers found bottles of liquor on their person. The three men could not explain where they got the liquor from. The suspects were arrested and will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on charges of suspected stolen items.
Meanwhile, Randburg police arrested people for drunk driving, theft of motor vehicle, fraud, defeating the ends of justice, assault under the domestic violence act, and possession of dagga between 13 and 15 October.
The arrested will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.
