A 48-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of rape.
The victim arrived at her boyfriend’s home in Bryanston after he called her and asked her to come and fetch money to pay rent.
After the accused and the victim ate dinner, he demanded to have sex with her. She refused. The victim informed her boyfriend that she was not feeling well but he insisted. He allegedly assaulted and raped her.
The next morning he gave her taxi fare and ordered her to leave.
Randburg police spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja said the victim called the police, a docket was opened and the suspect was immediately arrested.
“The investigation continues.”
