Ann Harding residents take coffee with their arts and crafts

NORTHWOLD – Residents of Ann Harding take their arts and crafts to the coffee shop.

Paying forward kindness you received is the best gift and proven true by the happy, smiling faces of residents of Ann Harding Cheshire home.

The Daily coffee shop which opened at Northwold Junction in August decided to start their monthly community initiative by inviting the residents for coffee and cake.

Kristel Gillies, Liz Gomez and Andre Gouws have their cappuccinos before they start to paint.

Every Monday, at the home, residents can choose to partake in a class of arts and crafts. This is a fun and creative way to work different parts of the mind and the body.

On 28 August, however, about 20 residents crammed into the shop steaming with the smell of freshly brewed coffee, excited to start painting in their change of scenery. Owner of The Daily, Marius Meyer said, “A lot of people helped me open this store and I want to give that kindness I was shown back to the community.

“It shows that any person can give back to their community, it doesn’t just need to be on Mandela Day.”

Jenny Schraam with caretaker Mary Mateane and Gerry Ireland have a great time at arts and crafts.

As a surprise for the residents, the staff of Brazen Beauty Bar, also situated at the shopping centre, were humbled to join the special gathering. Nails were wonderfully painted along with a few moisture massages.
