51-year-old in court for drug possession

JOBURG – A man will have to make a formal bail application at the Randburg Magistrates' Court after he was denied bail during his first appearance.

A 51-year-old man was denied bail at the Randburg Magistrates' Court.

A 51-year-old male facing a charge of drug possession was denied bail at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court. He will appear again on 28 August for a formal bail application.

In another case, a 33-year-old woman appeared briefly at the same court on charges of theft.

The accused allegedly stole a man’s wallet at Woolworths, Cresta. The wallet is said to have cost R199.

She told the court that she will be pleading guilty and wants the case to be concluded as soon as possible highlighting that she has a four-month-old baby at home.

She was granted R500 bail and will be back in court on 4 October.
