Since around May this year, hundreds of tenants have stopped paying rent to landlords and instead have paid it into the movement’s trust account.
Landlords, property agents and tenants have put forward claims that the group has forced them, allegedly in many instances with violence, to participate in a rental boycott for properties in the suburbs.
