Sasol gives 210 children of Zandspruit a year-long training programme

ZANDSPRUIT – Sasol Energy gives children of Emthonjeni Community Centre the opportunity to broaden their learning.

Sasol Energy has given children of Emthonjeni Community Centre the opportunity to be part of a year-long literature and mathematics web-based training programme.

This came after the company embraced the government’s National Development Plan to create a sustainable education system with high quality, universal early childhood education as well as a quality school education with global competitive literacy and numeracy standards.

This is also an effort to contribute towards the country’s 2030 education goals, and Sasol provided 210 children of the Zandspruit centre with this training programme. The official handover took place on 16 August at the centre.

“As Sasol, we are aware of our responsibility to make a positive impactful contribution to the communities where we operate. The support that we have given to Emthonjeni over the years is our way of reaffirming our commitment to our surrounding communities,” said Christopher Kabosha, senior manager: Corporate Affairs and Marketing at Sasol Energy.

Louise Rivett of the centre said, “We are exceptionally grateful for the support that we received from Sasol which does not only consist of the 12-month literature and mathematics web-based training programme, but is also coupled with a donation of an ablution container for the aftercare centre as well as an installation of a security system at our bakery centre.”

Kabosha concluded Sasol Energy’s continued involvement in supporting government’s key priorities is a step towards securing a sustainable future for both communities and for Sasol Energy’s.
