Metro police and the South African Police Service conducted a roadblock operation over the weekend.
From 21 to 23 July, 34 suspects were arrested for drunken driving.
Spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Captain Balan Muthan explained that the joint effort yielded an even greater success when two suspects were arrested for alleged murder.
“This is an ongoing operation. We have seen a number of arrests being made as a result of successful teamwork between the police, Metro and the community,” concluded Balan.
