Metro police musician brings joy

JOBURG – "We feel very honoured to have such a talented member within our ranks."

Joburg’s singing Metro police officer, 42-year-old Inspector Patrick Baloyi, in addition to wowing social media with his talent, is also in charge of a crowd management unit within the law-enforcement department.

The officer was filmed playing Luther Vandross’ Dance With My Father on the piano, and he surprised his online audience even further when he sang along. The video started making its rounds on social media last week.

Metro police spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar, said the video was recorderd by Baloyi’s wife at their home. “We feel very honoured to have such a talented member within our ranks.”

Minnaar praised the officer for his good reputation at work and his respectful attitude towards the public.
