Police seek armed robbery suspects

COSMO CITY – R2 500 cash, television and cellphones among other items stolen during two house robberies in Cosmo City.

Honeydew police are on the hunt for three suspects accused of two separate house robberies in Cosmo City on 29 and 30 June.

According to Captain Balan Mutha, spokesperson for the station, the robberies occurred hours apart and various items including cash were stolen by the gun-wielding men.

Explaining what happened Muthan said, “The first incident, two Ext 6 tenants were sitting at the veranda around 10.30pm cooking when the three males, two armed with pistols and the other with a knife, took them to their room and robbed them of their cash, laptop, clothes and five cellphones.

“In the second incident in the same area before 2am, the suspects kicked open the backroom door and found a male sleeping. He was told to lie down on the floor by three armed men and they took his R2 500 cash, cellphone, television and clothes.”

Muthan added that the suspects are still at large and police are investigating the matter.
