Residents are invited to attend the Linden CPF AGM

LINDEN – The Linden Community Policing Forum invites residents to attend their annual general meeting.

The Linden Community Policing Forum‘s (CPF) annual general meeting will take place on 28 June at the Linden Police Station. The forum is a partnership between the police and the community to solve safety problems.

Linden CPF interim secretary, Debbie Hanekom said all residents within the Linden precinct are invited to attend and vote for who they believe will take the community forward. The Linden precinct includes areas such as Blairgowrie, Victory Park, Linden and Ferndale.

“Due to the recent developments within the executive committee, a new committee has to be elected by the community. Nomination forms have been sent out to the various role players and residents’ associations explaining the process,” said Hanekom.

She added the Linden CPF is a vital link and network between Linden police and the community. Residents who attend the meeting can look forward to the announcement of the new executive committee members . It is also a great way to connect with the community and communications channels are one of the challenges they face.

“We need to link suburbs in order to fight crime, together. We need the community’s input in order to work together to make Linden a safer and great place to live.”

Linden CPF chairperson, Jadd Harding encourages residents to participate in the executive committee’s nomination process. All the nomination candidates will be made public on 20 June and residents will have seven days in which to object.

“The names of the nominees will be distributed on social media groups to all our members belonging to different precincts and will also be made available on the Linden police’s website,” said Harding.
