A 53-year-old man was shot and assaulted allegedly by attackers during a violent armed robbery on the evening of 12 June in Nietgedacht.
According to Netcare 911, paramedics responded to reports of a violent robbery and shooting at a plot in the area not too far from the R114.
Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Nick Dollman said paramedics, private security and police responded to the call for help.
“Paramedics attended to a 53-year-old man who had allegedly been shot and assaulted by his attackers,” said Dollman.
He said the man was shot multiple times, assaulted and in a critical condition. “He was attended to by a Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic. He was stabilised at the scene and was transported to a hospital by ambulance, under the constant care of the paramedic, for further urgent medical care.”
