St Stithians Girls’ coach, James Ferrans said, “The fact that the team has been together for a few years adds to their great consistency. We are used to the way we all play and what makes us tick, also, set training times and regimes keep us up to speed with each other’s playing style.”

The proud coach said the strategy to all their wins was simple hockey moves and transferring the ball into the correct channels, making sure the players are clinical with their passes, goal scoring and maintaining composure on the ball.

Ferrans added that a great win was the best motivation for the players even in the face of challenges. “The new era of coaching has been a challenge for the girls though it is one they have embraced. As they understand new terminologies around the game as well, the girls have progressed really nicely.”
