Caxton Greater Joburg North and West branches joined forces with the community to bring relief to those affected by the Knysna fires in the Western Cape.
Branches in Craighall Park, Weltevreden Park and Witpoortjie reached out to the community to use their offices as drop-off points for the much-needed donations. These items, along with goods from various drop-off points in the community, were collected on 9 June by the Caxton Joburg distribution team.
Members of the Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) and Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital were particularly influential and generous in the Roodepoort area for their want to support those affected by the fires.
Greater Joburg North, branch manager Norman Dawe said, “A big thank you to the community that is filled with amazing people. Without them, such an initiative never would have happened.”
All the collected items are to be packed by the factory staff at Caxton’s printing works in Industria. Two eight ton trucks will make their way to the George Herald offices in George, Western Cape on 10 June where the goods will be distributed to the Knsyna fire victims.
