Healing Choices moves location to fight addiction in Randpark Ridge

RANDPARK RIDGE – Randburg rehabilitation centre moves to new area.

Healing Choices, an addiction rehabilitation centre, has moved to Randpark Ridge.

Founder of the centre, Peter Kilian, said, “We closed the centre in Fontainebleau in March to move to a more appropriate location in Randpark Ridge. Where the centre was before was too close to Windsor, where addicts could easily find the drug of their choice.”

The centre is now on a tight schedule to open on 3 July. The new house will be able to accommodate 15 individuals and will still contain the Recovery Cafe, a coffee bar for recovering and past addicts.

Healing Choices started in 2012, however, Kilian has been in the addiction rehabilitation industry since 2004. It was his own battle with addiction that brought him to want to help others overcome addiction and help them work towards a better future.

Kilian was a pastor for many years before he started in the coffee import business. During this time he tried crack cocaine.

“It is a myth that you need to have an inherited disposition to addiction or need to try the drug many times to get addicted. I tried it once and I lost everything.”

The centre’s programme was ultimately developed around what he experienced and thus it does not only revolve around conquering addiction but also helps individuals map out the rest of their lives and gain new coping skills.

Kilian said their new premises is more central and is in the correct location for their target market which is middle class individuals.
