Enlightening Grade 12s

COSMO CITY – Grade 12s receive needed career guidance.

Experts in different fields of higher learning rendered their knowledge to Grade 12s from various Cosmo City schools to assist them with career choices on 5 May.

More than 400 matrics from Farnorth Secondary, Blue Eagle High and Cosmo City high schools packed a multi-purpose centre in Cosmo City to receive guidance as they plan ahead for new beginnings next year.

The event was hosted by Musa Mahou, a non-profit organisation.

Musa Mahou hosts career expos to enhance the youth’s knowledge about careers and education.

Prudence Mangwanatala, the event co-ordinator, said they invited professionals from different fields to share their knowledge with the Grade 12s and explain the requirements to be accredited for certain studies.

Tshwane University of Technology and the University of Johannesburg were among the few institutions which were invited.

Spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Captain Balan Muthan attended the event and encouraged youngsters to also look into the policing fraternity.

“When we introduce careers, one of the careers that must be looked at is joining the South African Police Services. I would like to encourage the kids especially from [Cosmo City] to take advantage of the opportunity. This will make policing within the area easy and accessible,” Muthan said.

Pretoria musician, Sibusiso ‘Holy hip-hop man’ Mahlangu performed for his music for the crowd. His music is youth and gospel orientated.
