Infuriated man allegedly assaults guards at a complex in Bryanston

BRYANSTON – The guard was allegedly assaulted by a resident in one of the complexes he was guarding.

Benjamin Ntuli sustained a serious head injury when he was assaulted on the morning of 7 April at one of the complexes in Bryanston.

Benjamin Ntuli says the man confronted him before he started attacking him.

This Ghost Squad security guard was allegedly attacked with a baton at about 1.05am, by a man who stays at a complex which he was guarding.

An infuriated and aggressive man allegedly confronted Ntuli in the early hours of the morning and accused him of reporting him to the complex’s agency for making a noise.

The man alleged that he had received a warning letter from the agency, accusing him of causing a disturbance at the complex and that it was the guards who had reported him.

He allegedly attacked a supervisor as well who was trying to calm him.

“We opened a case with the police. He cannot behave that way. The guards are there to keep residents safe and not cause a problem,” said Ghost Squad CEO Allan Stott.

Stott said they have opened a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) at the Randburg Police Station.

“It took about six policemen to get him under control and put him inside the van,” he alleged.

Ntuli said the man accused the guards of reporting him. “He said one of our guards reported him and I should tell him who reported it to the agency.”

Ntuli said he had to be hospitalised as he was bleeding badly from the injuries. He added, “He said to me that it was an old madala who reported that he was making a noise and owning a brothel inside the complex. He also hit the supervisor who was trying to calm him,” he said.
