Radiokop business robbed in broad daylight

RADIOKOP – Robbers use a duvet cover to load goods into a getaway vehicle during an armed robbery at a business in the suburb.

Honeydew police are investigating a case of business robbery after a store was hit by armed men in broad daylight in Radiokop on 12 April.

Honeydew Police Station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan confirmed the robbery and said they are investigating the matter.

A sales consultant at Cartridge Hyper in Honey Junction, who wants to remain anonymous, , confirmed that the business was robbed, but refused to give details about the incident.

However, an eyewitness who also wished to remain anonymous, posted this information on social media, explaining what happened.

“I was at Pick ‘n Pay, Radiokop, walking past the cartridge shop. I saw people taking cartridges out in a duvet cover. I looked into the shop, thinking they might be closing down. The next thing there was a gunshot and then chaos when people realised what was happening,” the witness said.

The witness added that no injuries were reported, and the robbers escaped in a silver Toyota Avante.
