JOIN: Beyers Naude Drive #WeSAenough march

Hundreds of residents are urged to join the voluntary peaceful march across Beyers Naude Drive over the N1 Highway on 7 April (Friday).

Carola Trummer, one of the organisers of the march, explained that this is addressed to all concerned citizens following the latest developments in the country and that this will give residents the opportunity to exercise their right to a peaceful march.

Wayne Duvenage, CEO of OUTA, will also be attending the march. Residents from all neighbouring suburbs such as Randpark Ridge, Northcliff, Fairland, Weltevreden Park, and surrounds are all encouraged to participate.

“This is a non-political, non-racial but peaceful people’s movement,” added Trummer.

Important notices:

Time: 6am for 6.30am kick off (duration about 1 hour)

Groups: of less than 16 people will be formed and march down Beyers Naude towards the N1 highway bridge. You can bring self-made placards that are not derogatory or rude. This is a voluntary march and you are liable for your own safety and wellbeing. Please adhere to traffic law and keep out of traffic.

Parking: at Sasol Garage and along Chaplin Road without interfering traffic flow. Residence living in Randpark Ridge near the garage are urged to walk to the starting point. Please be advised and make use of the possibility to park at Wayne Avenue at the park.

Dress code: In black or South African colours. No rugby, soccer, cricket t-shirts.

“Please do not march before you are briefed by marshals. Remember, this peaceful march is for people who are unable to join Pretoria and/or Johannesburg but still want to voice their concern. It will approximate last for 1 h of your time,” added Trummer.
