MUST READ: Burst pipe causes water shortage

NORTHCLIFF – A contractor has apparently hit a bulk water supply pipe in Washington Drive.

NORTHCLIFF – A burst pipe in Northcliff is causing water shortages, and Ward 89 councillor Amelia Bester said she was told about a burst pipe on Norman Drive in Northcliff on the afternoon of 13 February.

She said Joburg Water’s technical director, Etienne Hugo, had told her that a contractor involved in the F46 pipeline project had hit a bulk water supply pipe in Washington Drive that feeds into Randburg.

Joburg Water has assured residents on Twitter that it is attending to the situation and that it will place water tankers at designated locations.

Residents have been asked to store their water as estimated time of repair is at this stage unclear and an update will follow.

Joburg Water has placed a water tanker in Windsor.

But they are in search of other locations where they can place tankers.
