Police on manhunt after perfumes worth R600 000 were stolen

DOUGLASDALE – Police appeal to any member of the public with information to help them track down suspects who stole perfumes in Lonehill.

Douglasdale police have launched a manhunt for suspects who broke into the Lonehill Red Square shop on 30 January.

According to the police report, the shop manager received a call from a security guard about the alarm which had gone off at the shop at about 6am.

The manager went to investigate and found that the shop had been broken into. Perfumes with an estimated value of R600 000 had been stolen.

“Police preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects used a white Volkswagen Caddy with a false registration number to load the perfumes,” said Douglasdale police spokesperson Captain Mpho Kgasoane.

Police advised members of the public to refrain from buying stolen goods as it contributed to the level of crime.

“‘We also appeal to members of the community who have information that might assist police investigations to call us,” she said.
