CPF gets cash boost from local business

HONEYDEW – Vega has donated R50 000 to the Honeydew CPF

Vega Instruments, manufacturer of process measurement technology, has donated funds to the Honeydew Community Policing Forum in recognition of its service to the community.

A cheque of R50 000 was handed to Jon Rosenberg, the CPF’s spokesperson, at the company’s annual golf day in Ruimsig.

Vega’s group director for Africa, John Groom, said, “They are our unsung heroes. They deliver a service to the public and, as a business, we support the cause.”

A grateful Rosenberg told Roodepoort Northsider that a lion’s share of the funds would go to a trauma centre. “The CPF has been running at a loss for a couple of years. With the turnaround in the market, our regular donors, such as big shopping centres in the precinct, are no longer donating, and I would hate to see the trauma centre close down, particularly since it offers free counselling to victims of crime,” he said.

He thanked Vega and encouraged other local businesses and individuals to support the CPF.
